Café UFO is one of Ella’s most unique dining destinations, inspired by the legendary flying machine of King Ravana. Known for its iconic design, welcoming atmosphere, and fresh locally sourced dishes, we serve travelers, locals, and visitors from around the world.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced General Manager to lead daily operations and ensure outstanding service excellence.

Role Summary

  • Position: General Manager

  • Location: Ella, Sri Lanka

  • Experience Required: 5–10 years in restaurant management

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations Management: Oversee daily restaurant operations, including both front and back of house.

  • Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and motivate the service and kitchen teams.

  • Service Excellence: Maintain high standards of customer service and guest satisfaction.

  • Quality Control: Ensure food quality, presentation, and hygiene standards are consistently met.

  • Administration: Manage staff scheduling and team coordination.

  • Problem Solving: Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally.

  • Culture: Maintain a positive, energetic working culture.

Requirements

  • Proven Experience: 5–10 years of proven experience as a Restaurant General Manager or Senior Restaurant Manager.

  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team-building skills.

  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Service Standards: Deep understanding of restaurant service standards.

  • Global Hospitality: Experience working with international guests is an advantage.

  • Resilience: Ability to perform under pressure in a busy tourism environment.

  • Languages: Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
