Overview

Public Bank Berhad (PBB), a Malaysian commercial bank with a presence in Sri Lanka, is hiring a Senior Officer – Finance. Applications go by email within 7 days of the advertisement.

Duties

  • Prepare financial statements and management reports under IFRS and SLFRS
  • Run month-end and year-end closing, budgeting, financial analysis and MIS reporting
  • Keep the bank in line with tax laws, statutory requirements and regulatory reporting obligations
  • Prepare and submit returns to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the Inland Revenue Department and other authorities
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors and regulators
  • Support financial planning, budget monitoring and other finance operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, commerce or a related field from a UGC-approved university
  • Full or part qualification in CA Sri Lanka, ACCA or CIMA (AAT may also be considered)
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, taxation or auditing, preferably in a bank or regulated financial institution
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS/SLFRS, Sri Lankan taxation and statutory compliance
  • Advanced Excel; exposure to ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, numerical, problem-solving and English communication skills
  • Able to work independently and meet strict deadlines
