Overview
Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka & Finance PLC (MBSL), a subsidiary of Bank of Ceylon, is hiring an Assistant Manager for Internal Audit. A suitable candidate can be promoted to Deputy Manager based on performance and attitude. Applications close on 5 November 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct divisional and branch internal audits in line with the annual Internal Audit Plan.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal practices and CBSL guidelines.
- Identify control weaknesses, assess risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Follow up audit findings and monitor agreed action plans.
- Prepare timely and accurate audit reports for senior management and the Audit Committee.
Qualifications and experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or Commerce from a recognised university, or a part qualification in CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA or CMA with at least 50% of the examinations completed.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably in banking or financial services.
- Sound knowledge of Accounting Standards, Risk Management and Internal Audit practices.
- Strong analytical skills, professional judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to draft Internal Audit Reports independently.
- Experience in branch audits is an added advantage.
- Maximum age limit: 40 years.
