Overview

Tissamaharama Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society Ltd is hiring for four Grade III posts: Computer Data Operator, Management Assistant, Driver and Hand Helper. Applications from people who meet the qualifications and live in the society’s area must reach the society on or before 6 November 2026. The notice does not say how many vacancies each post has.

1. Computer Data Operator (Grade III)

  • Salary: Rs. 34,000 – 400 x 5 – 500 x 5 – 600 x 10 – 700 x 10 – 800 x 12 – 61,100 (code OPL-2)
  • Age: between 18 and 45
  • G.C.E. (O/L): six subjects passed in no more than two sittings, including English, with credit passes in 3 subjects that include Mathematics and Sinhala or Tamil
  • An information technology certificate at NVQ Level III from a state-registered institution
  • Promotion: Grade II after 5 years of satisfactory service in Grade III and the Co-operative Development Certificate (Ordinary Level) course. Grade I after 5 years in Grade II and the Co-operative Development Certificate (Advanced Level) course or the Diploma in Co-operative Management

2. Management Assistant (Grade III)

  • Salary: Rs. 34,000 – 400 x 5 – 500 x 5 – 600 x 10 – 700 x 10 – 800 x 12 – 61,100 (code OPL-2)
  • Age: between 18 and 45
  • G.C.E. (O/L): six subjects passed in no more than two sittings, including Mathematics, with credit passes in 3 subjects that include Sinhala or Tamil. A pass in any stream at G.C.E. (A/L) is also accepted
  • Co-operative Development Certificate (Ordinary Level) course, completed
  • Serving society staff can also qualify with 5 years of satisfactory service in an MSL-I post plus the same course
  • Promotion: Grade II after 5 years of satisfactory service in Grade III and the Co-operative Development Certificate (Ordinary Level) course. Grade I after 5 years in Grade II and the Advanced Level certificate course or the Diploma in Co-operative Management

3. Driver (Grade III)

  • Salary: Rs. 32,500 – 290 x 5 – 340 x 5 – 390 x 10 – 440 x 10 – 490 x 12 – 49,830 (code MSL-1)
  • Age: between 22 and 45
  • Passes in 6 subjects at G.C.E. (O/L)
  • A driving licence for the relevant vehicle class held for at least 3 years, and a pass in the practical test of the Road Passenger Transport Authority
  • Promotion: Grade II after 5 years of satisfactory service in Grade III, then Grade I after 5 more years in Grade II

4. Hand Helper (Grade III)

  • Salary: Rs. 31,000 – 250 x 5 – 300 x 5 – 350 x 10 – 400 x 10 – 450 x 12 – 46,650
  • Age: between 18 and 45
  • Able to read and write, and in good physical health
  • Promotion: Grade II after 5 years of satisfactory service in Grade III, then Grade I after 5 more years in Grade II

Pay and benefits

  • Salaries follow the scales and allowances approved by the Southern Provincial Co-operative Employees Commission
  • Employees’ Provident Fund, Employees’ Trust Fund and the co-operative employees’ retirement pension scheme apply

Serving co-operative staff

The age limit does not apply to people already employed by other co-operative societies. They apply through the head of their society. If a serving employee applies directly and is selected, the post can be withdrawn once that comes to light.
