Overview

The Mahiyangana Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society is taking external applications for five posts. Applications must reach the Chairman by 5 November 2026 by registered post.

Positions and pay

  • Watchman (PL 1-2026, Grade III): Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 41,440. Pass in 2 subjects at O/L in no more than two sittings.
  • Field Officer (OL 2-2026, Grade III): Rs. 37,000 to Rs. 54,000. O/L pass in 6 subjects at one sitting with credits in 3, including mathematics and Sinhala or Tamil. Also one of: A/L pass in 3 subjects, the National Co-operative Council higher certificate, or a diploma in co-operative management. A motorcycle licence and 1 year of experience in a bank, commerce, valuation or similar field are also required. Applicants with that experience get priority.
  • Computer Data Operator (OL 1-2026, Grade III): Rs. 35,500 to Rs. 50,760. O/L pass in 6 subjects with credits in 4, including mathematics and Sinhala or Tamil. Also A/L pass in 3 subjects or the co-operative qualifications above, plus a computer course of at least 6 months.
  • Transport Officer (OL 2-2026, Grade III): Rs. 37,000 to Rs. 54,000. O/L and A/L or co-operative qualifications as for Field Officer. Heavy vehicle licence, an NVQ Level 4 certificate in motor vehicle technology, and 1 year of experience.
  • General Manager (SM 2-2026, Grade III): Rs. 55,000 to Rs. 81,770. Age 21 to 45. A degree in business management, management, commerce, accountancy or economics, with a 6-month IT course and 1 year of managerial experience. A degree in any field also qualifies with a business management diploma, an IT course and 2 years of managerial experience.

Age limit for all posts except General Manager is 18 to 45.
