Overview

MCB Bank Limited, founded in 1947 and one of the largest banks in Pakistan, is hiring an Officer for Fraud Risk Management in its Sri Lanka Compliance Team. The role is the first line of defense against financial crime. Applications close 14 days after the advertisement.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor system-generated alerts and reports across card and digital channels to spot suspicious transactions
  • Manage digital channel (app and cards) blocks and reactivations, and secure customer accounts after a transaction is disowned
  • Handle and investigate reported digital fraud incidents, run containment steps and coordinate investigations across departments
  • Act on inbound requests from external member banks about alleged fraudulent funds routed to Sri Lanka Operations account holders
  • Coordinate general banking fraud incidents within Sri Lanka and escalate to Group Functions at Headquarters
  • Coordinate internal staff account alerts between Fraud Risk Management and Human Resources

Qualifications and skills

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or a recognized professional qualification
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in system-based fraud risk management at a licensed commercial bank
  • A full or partial qualification in Compliance, Banking, AML/CFT or Risk is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail
  • Able to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Good written and verbal communication, and able to coordinate with several stakeholders
  • Age below 35 preferred
