Overview
StudyMate (studymate.lk), an AI tutor that explains schoolwork step by step in English, is hiring part-time subject teachers for Cambridge IGCSE and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE. The posts are Maths, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English. Hours are flexible. Applications close on Wednesday, 11 November 2026.
Your work each month
- Review: read 20 to 30 of the tutor’s answers in your subject and mark anything an examiner would not accept, such as wrong working, wrong method or mark allocation, or wrong terms.
- Sign off: tell StudyMate in writing whether the subject is correct for the exam board, and list what to fix.
- Answer students: reply to the hard questions students send to a teacher, within 24 hours.
- Own materials only: do not copy past papers or official mark schemes. Write in your own words.
Time, fee and trial
- Time: about 10 to 12 hours a month. You choose your own hours.
- Fee: a flat Rs 50,000 a month for your subject. It does not depend on the number of questions or students.
- Trial: 2 months. After that, both sides decide whether to continue.
Requirements
- A qualified teacher with at least 2 years of Cambridge IGCSE or Edexcel International GCSE teaching experience in your subject.
- Experience as an examiner or marker for either board is an advantage.
- Clear written English and reliability with deadlines.
