Quantity Surveyor – Meezan Group of Companies (Colombo)

Meezan Group of Companies is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our team in Colombo. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing cost estimation, contract administration, and project cost control for our diverse commercial and warehouse development projects.

Key Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the financial and contractual health of our construction projects. Your duties include:

  • Cost Estimation & Documentation: Preparing accurate cost estimates, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and comprehensive tender documents.

  • Procurement: Evaluating contractor quotations and leading price negotiations.

  • Financial Management: Monitoring project budgets, controlling costs, and handling progress claims/payment certifications.

  • Site Inspections: Conducting on-site measurements and valuations.

  • Contract Administration: Managing variation orders and maintaining precise contract documentation.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Liaising effectively with consultants, contractors, and internal management.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Education: A Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience in construction projects (experience in commercial or warehouse developments is a significant advantage).

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and industry-standard QS software.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction contracts and cost control mechanisms.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Age Limit: 25 – 45 years.
