Overview
The Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL), the regulator of the insurance industry, is hiring for seven posts at its office in Colombo 01.
Vacancies and requirements
- Assistant Director, Supervision: Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, Actuarial or a similar discipline, or an equivalent professional qualification, and 6 years of post-qualifying managerial experience
- Assistant Director, Market Intermediary Licensing and Supervision: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, Insurance, Law or a similar discipline, or an equivalent professional qualification, and 6 years of post-qualifying managerial experience
- Executive, Market Conduct Supervision: Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration or a similar discipline, or an equivalent professional qualification, and 2 years of post-qualifying experience at junior executive or executive level. This is not a marketing post
- Executive, Supervision: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Commerce, Management, Business Administration, Insurance, Mathematics or a similar discipline, or an equivalent professional qualification, and 2 years of post-qualifying experience at junior executive or executive level
- Executive, Market Development and External Relations: Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Mathematics, Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, Management, Marketing or Communication, or an equivalent professional qualification, and 2 years of post-qualifying experience at junior executive or executive level
- Executive, Administration: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Accountancy, Commerce or a similar discipline, or an equivalent professional qualification, and 2 years of post-qualifying experience at junior executive or executive level
- Driver cum Office Aide: G.C.E. O/L pass in 6 subjects with 3 credit passes, 5 years of experience as a driver and a valid heavy vehicle driving licence
Salary and benefits
- Assistant Director: Rs 225,050 a month, plus a vehicle allowance of Rs 25,000 and a communication allowance of Rs 2,000
- Executive: Rs 156,050 a month
- Driver cum Office Aide: Rs 78,425 a month
- Annual performance-based incentive and leave encashment
- Outdoor medical reimbursement and indoor medical insurance
- Life and critical illness cover
- Personal accident cover equal to 60 months of basic salary
- Vehicle and distress loan facilities
- Sponsorship for higher studies
- Reimbursement of subscription fees for one professional institution
General terms
- Applicants must be below 40 years of age on the closing date. This does not apply to applicants from the government sector
- Experience or qualifications in insurance, analytical and research areas, and work in a regulatory authority are a distinct advantage for Assistant Director and Executive posts
- Canvassing in any form is a disqualification

Driver cum Office Aide: send your application with copies of your certificates, including the driving licence, and the contact details of two non-related referees by registered post. Write “Post of Driver cum Office Aide” in the top left corner of the envelope.
