Overview
Public Bank Berhad (PBB) is hiring a Systems Analyst / Programmer to work with its Systems Analysts on the bank’s core application systems. Training on the IBM i (AS400) environment is provided on the job. Applications go by email within 7 days of the advertisement.
Duties
- Help develop, maintain, test and enhance the bank’s application systems
- Support existing Systems Analysts with day-to-day operations, troubleshooting and application support
- Take part in system enhancements, program modifications, testing and implementation
- Learn the IBM i (AS400) environment and related banking applications through structured on-the-job training
- Help prepare technical documentation, system procedures and application support records
- Coordinate with internal users, IT staff and external service providers to resolve system issues
- Support system changes that come from operational and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in computer science, information technology, software engineering or a related field from a recognised institution
- Preferably 2 to 4 years of experience in software development, application programming or system support
- Working knowledge of programming languages such as PHP, Java and SQL
- Knowledge of IBM i (AS400), RPG, RPGLE, CL programming or DB2/400 is a distinct advantage
- Experience in application development, database management, system troubleshooting or software testing
- Exposure to banking or financial services applications is an added advantage
- Strong analytical skills, a willingness to learn new technologies, and good interpersonal and teamwork skills
