Overview
The Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs is recruiting a Hostel Matron for the Gramodaya Janakala Kendraya in Battaramulla. Only women can apply. Applications must arrive by 20 November 2026.
Position
- Post: Hostel Matron, Grade III
- Service: Management Assistant Technical, Grade 2 (MN 1-2025)
- Salary: Rs. 45,230 with 10 increments of Rs. 540, 11 of Rs. 630, 10 of Rs. 890 and 10 of Rs. 1,190, reaching Rs. 78,360
- Age: 25 to 40
- Appointment: permanent after a 3-year probation. The first year must include a minimum level of work efficiency.
- Workplace: the Gramodaya Janakala Kendraya hostel at Palawatta, Battaramulla
Qualifications
- G.C.E. O/L: pass 6 subjects at one sitting, including language and mathematics, with credits in 2 more subjects.
- G.C.E. A/L: pass in all subjects (General Paper excluded).
- At least 6 months of experience as a hostel matron in a government or semi-government institution.
- Good health and physical fitness to work in any part of Sri Lanka, with good character.
- All qualifications must be held on 28 October 2026.
Selection
Selection is by structured interview. Marks go to additional education (25), additional experience (25), professional qualifications (25), language proficiency (10), computer literacy (10) and interview skills (5), out of 100.
