Overview
The Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) is hiring 12 staff: 8 Work Superintendents (Civil) for Colombo, Galle and Trincomalee, and 4 Instructor Demonstrators. Applications must reach SLPA on or before 6 November 2026.

Salary (all posts)
- Grade and salary code: Supra Grade 6.3 (SG 3)
- Basic salary: Rs. 53,425
- Annual increment: Rs. 1,150
- Gross monthly pay: about Rs. 132,000
1. Work Superintendent (Civil)
- G.C.E. (A/L): three subjects passed at one sitting
- A diploma in the relevant field: HNDE, NDT, NDES, ED-OUSL, DTec-OUSL, a City & Guilds final diploma, or an equivalent diploma from a government or TVEC-recognised technical or vocational institute
- At least 3 years of experience as a Work Superintendent or in an equivalent post in a government or recognised private institution
2. Instructor Demonstrator (Civil)
- G.C.E. (A/L): three subjects passed at one sitting
- HNDE, NDT, HNDT, NDES, ED-OUSL, DTec-OUSL, a City & Guilds diploma, or an equivalent diploma in civil engineering from a recognised institute
- At least 5 years of experience in an equivalent post in a government or recognised private institution
- Training of Trainers certificate (mandatory)
- Preference for applicants with training experience and English language proficiency
3 and 4. Instructor Demonstrator (Equipment Operations)
The notice prints one set of qualifications for the Gantry / Transfer Crane post and the Prime Mover / Forklift post.
- G.C.E. (A/L): three subjects passed at one sitting
- A relevant diploma such as HNDE, NDT, NDES, ED-OUSL, DTec-OUSL or a City & Guilds diploma, or an equivalent from a recognised institute
- At least 5 years of experience in an equivalent post in a government or recognised private institution
- Mandatory: the grade A operator certificate and licence for the equipment, and a Training of Trainers certificate
- Preference for applicants with training experience and English language proficiency
5. Instructor Demonstrator (Maritime and Seamanship)
- G.C.E. (A/L): three subjects passed at one sitting
- National Diploma (NDT or NDES) in marine or seamanship engineering, or a higher diploma in the field
- Or a certificate of competency for near coastal voyages (NCV) on vessels under 3,000 gross tonnage, issued by the Director General of Merchant Shipping Sri Lanka
- At least 5 years of experience in an equivalent post in a government or recognised private institution, including at least 1 year at sea
- Training of Trainers certificate (mandatory)
- Preference for applicants with training experience and English language proficiency
Age limit
Between 18 and 45 years. The limit does not apply to applicants already in the public service.

- Sri Lankan citizen
- Physically and mentally fit to do the work of the post and to serve in any part of the island
- Good character
- Medical fitness, if the interview board requires it
- Applicants already serving in government institutions or corporations apply through their head of department or institution
