Overview

People’s Bank is hiring a Network Administrator to run the bank’s LAN/WAN and internet systems. The appointment is on a contract basis.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure and support the bank’s LAN/WAN and internet systems and any other specialized network segment
  • Make sure LAN/WAN routers, switches, firewalls and all communication equipment are configured correctly and work efficiently
  • Monitor the network and propose improvements to keep it available to all systems, and track outages, performance violations and attacks
  • Make sure disruptions are handled and security maintenance is in place to prevent future attacks
  • Configure and troubleshoot firewalls and WAF
  • Implement strong network security mechanisms
  • Perform other network tasks as needed

Eligibility

  • Citizen of Sri Lanka
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from a recognized university or an institute approved by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka
  • A professional networking certification such as CCNA or equivalent is preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in networking and communication infrastructure as a Network Administrator, or an equivalent role managing and troubleshooting LAN/WAN, firewalls and related network systems
  • Ability to manage LAN/WAN infrastructure and network security systems, including firewall administration
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Age preferably below 35 as at the closing date

Terms

The position is in the non-banking stream, equivalent to the grade of Assistant Manager. Performance is evaluated annually. The bank offers a negotiable remuneration package based on qualifications and experience. Shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview.
