Overview
People’s Bank is hiring a Chief Manager – Project Finance on a contract basis. The post sits in the non-banking stream at the Chief Manager grade. Applications close on 2 November 2026 on the bank’s website.
Duties
- Lead strategic planning to meet project finance targets and drive business development
- Formulate and update project lending policies
- Oversee project appraisals, financial modelling, loan structuring and risk assessments
- Negotiate funding arrangements and advise project sponsors
- Monitor project progress, handle stressed projects and make sure recovery actions happen on time
- Lead, mentor and train project finance teams
- Report to senior leadership and take on other assigned responsibilities
- Evaluate individual projects, develop the function and set up suitable processes
- Follow the rules and regulations the Bank sets from time to time
Eligibility
Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
Academic and professional qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance or Engineering from a university or institution recognised by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka
- Or Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA) or Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA)
Experience
At least 7 years of banking experience, including at least 5 years in credit-related work, especially relationship management in project financing or commercial and corporate banking.

Selection and terms
