Job Overview: Procurement Associate

We are seeking a Procurement Associate on a contract basis with a strong engineering background to support our sourcing, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiations for key engineering projects.

This critical role bridges technical and commercial functions, ensuring that all materials, components, and services meet rigid project specifications while delivering optimal cost, quality, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

As a Procurement Associate, your day-to-day duties will include:

  • End-to-End Procurement: Manage all procurement activities for key engineering projects, from initial requisition to purchase order issuance.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering teams to thoroughly understand technical specifications and requirements.

  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard high-performing suppliers based on technical capability, cost, quality, and reliability.

  • Commercial Negotiations: Lead and support negotiations regarding pricing, delivery terms, and contract conditions.

  • Proposal Analysis: Analyze supplier proposals and provide data-driven recommendations based on both technical and commercial factors.

  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure long-term value and sustained performance.

  • Performance Monitoring: Track supplier performance, including quality, on-time delivery, and strict compliance with specifications.

  • Strategic Alignment: Work with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Finance, Project Management) to align procurement strategies with company goals.

  • Compliance & Budgeting: Ensure strict compliance with company procurement policies and project budgets.

  • Risk Management: Support risk assessment and mitigation strategies across the supply chain.

Profile & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related field).

  • Experience: Prior experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain within an engineering or manufacturing environment is highly preferred (added advantage).

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities with proven problem-solving skills.

  • Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Business Acumen: Strong commercial acumen combined with technical insight.

  • Work Ethic: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment with meticulous attention to detail.
