Overview
The Department of Government Factories is recruiting 10 Work Assistants in the Primary Non-Technical Service (PL 1), Grade III. The notice appears in the Gazette of 9 October 2026, Part I, Section IIA. The language medium is Sinhala, Tamil and English.
Salary
Salary code PL 1 – 2025: Rs 40,000 – 10 x 450 – 10 x 490 – 10 x 540 – 12 x 590 = Rs 61,880 a month.
Eligibility
- Sri Lankan citizen aged 18 to 45
- G.C.E. Ordinary Level pass in 6 subjects
- No professional qualification or experience is required
- Physically and mentally fit, and able to serve in any part of Sri Lanka
Selection
Selection is by a structured interview scored out of 100 marks. Educational qualifications carry 30 marks, vocational qualifications and training 25 (NVQ level 2 gives 5, NVQ level 3 gives 8, NVQ level 4 or higher gives 12), service experience 30, extracurricular activities 10 and the interview 5.
