Overview

Ransavi Construction (Pvt) Ltd and Needmore (Pvt) Ltd, a building construction company and supermarket in Moratuwa, are hiring an Assistant Accountant for the finance team. The office is at No. 84, Koralawella, Moratuwa.

Qualifications and experience

  • Part qualified in Chartered Accountancy (CA) or an equivalent professional accounting qualification
  • 4-5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Good knowledge of VAT, WHT, APIT and other statutory requirements in Sri Lanka
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger and monthly closing
  • Ability to help prepare management accounts, financial reports and budgets
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Integrity, confidentiality and professionalism
  • Added advantages: construction industry experience, and project or job costing, supplier payments, material costs and construction accounting

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date accounting records
  • Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable and supplier payments
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with monthly closing
  • Maintain general ledger entries and supporting documents
  • Help prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • Monitor project expenses, job costing and material costs
  • Help prepare budgets, cash flow statements and financial analyses
  • Keep documentation and statutory compliance in order
  • Coordinate with project and procurement teams on invoices, payments and project costs
  • Assist the Finance Manager or Accountant with day-to-day accounting work
