Overview

The Coconut Development Authority, under the Ministry of Plantation and Community Infrastructure, is hiring a Civil Engineer and a Programme Assistant (Information) on one-year contracts. Applications must arrive by 16 November 2026.

Positions

  • Engineer (Civil), 1 vacancy. All-inclusive monthly allowance Rs. 109,490 (Rs. 91,690 plus Rs. 17,800 cost of living allowance).
  • Programme Assistant (Information), 1 vacancy. All-inclusive monthly allowance Rs. 71,740 (Rs. 53,940 plus Rs. 17,800 cost of living allowance).

Both posts are on contract for one year. Age limit is 22 to 45 on the closing date. The upper limit does not apply to people already serving in government departments, provincial services, state corporations or statutory boards.

Qualifications

Engineer (Civil)

  • A civil engineering degree from a UGC-recognised university, or an NVQ certificate at Level 7 or above from a TVEC-recognised institution.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the field after the qualification, in a government department, public corporation, statutory board or recognised institution.

Programme Assistant (Information)

  • A degree in Information Technology from a UGC-recognised university, or a degree that included Computer Science as a subject.
  • Fluent English is required.

Benefits and selection

  • EPF: 10% from the employee and 15% from the employer. ETF: 3% from the employer.
  • Staff medical insurance and personal accident or workmen’s compensation cover.
  • Selection is by structured interview.
